Vision Walk is a Success!!

Well the vision walk went awesomely! We got to Duniway Park at about 6:30 to help set up. At 10:00 AM things got underway. Amy got some recognition for her help in planning the walk etc. Then, along with Jaxon, the mascot for the Portland Lumberjax Lacrosse team, I took the stage briefly to get the crowd warmed up for the walk.

Here I am showing the crowd some of my sweet dance moves as Jaxon looks on, perplexed. (It's not easy to perplex a mascot so I'm kind of proud of this shot.) :o) We went on from there to start the walk. Over all, we raised $5,000 for eye disease research today bringing out total up and over the $40,000 mark for the event. Thank you to all who gave to our team, prayed for us and showed up to walk. Oh, and to see another picture of me and Jaxon, go to my blog at greatadventure29.blogspot.com. Have a great day and God bless...

Prayer Request

Please pray for amy as she found out today that she has not been rehired at her job yet. Apparently, she received the re-hire papers in error. She has been told to wait for 1-2 weeks to see if she gets her job back. There is about a 90% chance that she will but she is still upset by this miscommunication. Pray that God would grant her peace and that she would trust in Him. Also pray, if it's Gods will, that she would indeed be re-hired. Have a great day and God bless...

Here are some pictures of our camping trip at Oxbow park. It was a good time. Great weather (if a little hot) beautiful scenery and tons of deer. It's amazing how tame they are there. They come up and eat out of peoples hands. It's kind of cool but it's also kind of sad that they have lost their wild instincts.

Thursday we go down to Medford. Please pray for our trip down.

Have a great day and God bless.

Our Friday.....

It was the most wonderful night... We learned so much. Tim Muehlhoff was are speaker. He used comedy with the truth of GOD within our marriages. We have one more session. I'm looking forward tomorrow morning...
This is little insert that I got from the Good Shepard Community church website: the Church we attend....

Tim Muehlhoff—Message to Conferees:
The series I'll be presenting at the conference is based on the simple idea that marriages are a lot like the weather. Some marriages have stable climates, while others are unpredictable. For some couples the climate of their marriage is like living in Southern California—bright sunshine and wonderful predictability. For others, marriage is unpredictable and a lot like living in the Midwest—“If you don’t like the weather, wait a few minutes, it’ll change.” One of biggest mistakes we can make as couples is ignore the climate of our marriage. To ignore our marital climate is to greatly reduce the effectiveness of our communication with each other. In fact, couples ought to place a sign, “Weather Permitting,” over every conversation before it begins. Sometimes the wisest thing a couple can do in a marriage is postpone talking about key issues facing them and, instead, work on improving the general climate within the marriage.
After our time together each of you will be able to take a climate reading of your marriage and develop communication strategies to improve it. The information you’ll hear during the conference comes from the most current research in the area of marital communication, listening skills, empathy, and conflict resolution. All of our sessions will be rooted in the wisdom of the Scriptures. You may be surprised how much the Bible has to say about conflict, forgiveness, empathy, marriage, sexual intimacy, balancing schedules, priorities, and the power of words.
Let’s trust God that He’ll work in our marriages this weekend. FROM: Tim

Eckos Newest Stunt

This is a little gross but it's funny too so if you have the stomach for it, read on...

Well, yesterday we got home from church and after we had been home for awhile, Amy came across something on the carpet that was perplexing. She called me over and I examined what was there. It was obviously cat throw-up but what confused me somewhat was that it appeared to be an entire handful of grass that she had upchucked. This was strange since Ecko is an indoor cat and has not been anywhere near grass in...well... years! Where could she have possibly gotten grass? The only plants we have in the appartment are the fake ones!

Well, you're probably guessing what happened. You see, a couple of days ago, Amy picked Ecko up and showed her this...

fake plant that we have on our dining room table. Ever since then, the cat has not been able to get the plant out of her head. She takes every opportunity to sneak up there and take a nibble. When I grabbed a peice of toilet paper and picked up one of the blades of grass (yeah, I know, gross but it's a lot easier when it's from your own cat), sure enough, it was made of plastic. Our lovely cat had eaten part of the plant. And she didn't just take a bite, decide it was disgusting, and spit it out either. Nope, by the amount of plastic grass that was there, it appeared to me that she had taken several bites. So there it is. Our cat now eats plastic plants. Cute, huh?

Have a great day and God bless...

6 MONTHS....

Sean and I made it to the 6th month of our marriage. It was a GREAT adventure. I thank GOD for every day... Love you Sweetie....

We went on the (6 month - Anniversary) Portland Spirit. It was a lot of fun. We had brunch (wonderful food), listened to a guy play the piano, and talked with each other about the passed few months. We have had a many good times and few downs. We have grown in a lot of different ways. Its been fun to watch how GOD has stretched and molded us.

GOD is are strength and shelter.

A Blog by Ecko

So mommy and daddy have really been irritating me lately. Picking me up all the time (they know how much I hate being picked up), sleeping when I want to play, playing when I want to sleep, following me when I go in to use the litter box (yes, daddy, I'm talking about you!!) So yesterday morning, I thought I'd send them a little message.
I don't usually do hairballs. I find them disgusting and somewhat uncivillized. But mom and dad pushed me to the point where I had no choice but to commence "Operation hairball in the hallway". Late Monday night, while Mom and Dad were asleep, I strategically placed a hairball in the hallway in front of the bathroom right where they usually walk... In their bare feet. Hehe... Well. It was a total bust. Both of them got up in the morning and just like I had planned, sleepily stumbled towards the bathroom. Both of them, by sheer dumb luck, missed the hairball and Daddy finally saw it and cleaned it up before anyone could step in it.
My plan failed. This isn't over though. That's for sure.
This has been a blog by our kitty Ecko. The opinions expressed by Ecko do not necessarily reflect the views of Sean, Amy, or anyone else in the civilized world.

Introducing...

Hi... I'm Sean... and I'm Amy.. And we're MARRIED!..... To each other! Yep.

Here's a funny story for you: Amy works in a high school and she's been on spring break this past week. I took the last part of the week off too and we spent some time doing some work around the appartment. One of the things we were trying to do was clear some stuff out of the storage closet outside of our appartment. I brought some boxes into the appartment for Amy to go through and went back to work on the outside closet. About 15 minutes after I left Amy in there with the boxes, there was this awful, blood curdling scream from the appartment. So I went in and was informed by Amy that there was a mouse in the box. I drug the box outside, emptied it out, and rifled through all of the contents... No mouse.

So the next day, we're in the bedroom working on the computer when we heard a squeak. We tried to convince ourselves that it was the appartment settling or a noise from outside, then we heard it again... louder. Yep... The mouse was in our room. So, Amy left the room and Ecko (our cat) and I sprung into action. I proceeded to trash the room looking for the rodent while Ecko quickly took up a position by the closed door wanting to be let out. Apparently she decided that this was not the best strategic position for her and moved after about 5 minutes to a position curled up on the bed with one eye opened. Stupid cat. So after I had completely torn up the room, we brought in the neighbors cat who has a reputation for being a hunter. We let her loose in the room and she quickly took up a position on the window sill and began looking out the window. What is it with these cats who don't know how to hunt? So anyway, I trashed the room and brought it two cats and was still unable to catch the stupid mouse. Finally, we went to the rental office and they brought us over some live catch traps which we baited and laid around the appartment. Still, we have not caught any mice.

Anyway, that's what's new with us. Hope you enjoyed this first entry of the Sean and Amy Together blog. Have a great day and God bless...

Sean and Amy.
